Abstract

|
Purpose : The research was conducted to identify knowledge, educational needs for stroke in stroke group and hypertension group.
Method : Data was collected from a survey conducted between the 12th of July and 30th of September, 2008. Participants were 129 patients of one hospital. Data was analyzed by t-test, x2-test using the SPSS/WIN 14.0.
Results : General characteristics of subjects between stroke group and hypertension guoup was homogeneity. Knowledge, educational needs for stroke between stroke group and hypertension group were not significantly different, but patients had strong knowledge, educational needs for stroke in two groups.
Conclusion : The finding suggest that education for stroke of etiology, symptom, risk factor are necessary to
manage, prevent and rehabilitate. This information should be used to construct stroke education program.
